Ok, I'll tell one on myself

While tryin to load a bass boat on a very steep ramp, it pays to hitch the trailer to the hitch-ball. If ya dont, the trailer may "wheelie" while your tryin to drive the boat on. If it wasnt for my friend's quick thinking, I'd had to go scuba diving for my trailer. He told me "I think thats what they invented saftey chains for" I had set the trailer on the ball, but it didnt go over it, it set on top of it. We were camping for 2 weeks and had unhooked the trailer. Next time I wont be in such of a hurry to load the boat.

Thank goodness you discovered it on the ramp not on the highway!

I heard a "clunking" sound come from my trailer and pulled over to check things out. Yep, the ball was not seated in the receiver. Since that time, I always put a padlock on the hitch and yes, safety chains are always used.
