Ok, here comes a confession from a bad day yesterday.
First of all, I lost a fender. I was mad. I thought that would ruing my day. But that was just a start. Then I had a hard time docking in the wind but I managed, fortunatelly at an empty dock. Whew!
Then I get the trailer in the water and want to drive my 4-ton beast on. The sidewind shifts me port so I have to approach again. This time I'm counting with more wind and I'm aligned right. I give it a bit more power to get on the trailer before the wind blows me aside again. I overshoot the winch by at least a foot and am sitting on the trailer crooked. The Admiral by the truck is saying "you need to back off"! Not a bad idea. I back off a little, get it on the trailer right and all's fine.
I get in my truck to pull the beast out. My first time in a new diesel manual. Should not be a problem, I have plenty of torque and I was raised on a stick. Heh. Wrong! Even though I need do pull it out fine, she's sitting crooked on the boards so I have to back it in and pull out again. This time, I'm having problems with the engine, I stall it twice!!
People at the ramp watching and chuckling. Finally, I pull her out slow and steady and am heading to the rigging area when a guy runs to me yelling and waving his arms. Immediately I realize that I must have left the outdrive down. Stupid! I exchange a couple frazes with the guy "yeah, it happens to the best of us. Thanks! But I never forgot the plug!"
I notice the ground-off part of the skeg and torn-up aluminum prop, raise the outdrive and take off (blushing all over) for the rigging area.

And I thought the lost fender was going to be the worst part of the day!

Fortunately, that was just my spare prop and I a replacement is already on its way but still, it makes me mad.

Hope this helps brighten your day. Please don't die from laughing!
Lou
