Headed to the lake with raz on friday. Sandi met us later in the weekend. It was beautiful weather and as you know the supermoon was out. We caught a lot of big fish and relaxed all weekend. But we had one incident i wanted to show everyone.........
This is friday afternoon. We found a nice little island to camp on for the weekend on the TN river. Primitive camping is fun and we were out in the sticks.
This is one of several large fish we caught.
Here is a picture of saturday morning drinking coffee getting ready for another day of fishing and cruising. Take note of the shoreline and water depth.
My 15 yr old, 6' 3" baby boy, zach aka raz
Weather was perfect. 75 during the day and 55 at night.
This is Sunday morning after sleeping in some. Sandi is the first out of the tent, i doze back off to sleep and a bit later, maybe 15 minutes, she comes over to the window and says, "dave hunny, wake up, looks like the water level dropped about five feet and you need to check it out". I loom out the window and the first words out of my mouth are, "OH MY, WE ARE FArkKED". Lmao! We are are in a remote area on an ISLAND and my 3500 lb rig is GROUNDED! Where is the water!! Come to find out the water level dropped 12' feet over night. They decided it would funny to open the damn and drain some water over night.
After about 5 seconds of trying to move it, i called the ranger station and within 30 min some kind soul out there fishing came up and pulled me off the rocks. What a great weekend we had.
