Ok so how do I do a static time?

Help me out please, found the timing marks but have never done a static timing job.
Can someone please tell me so I can go out boating?

ive been reading this forum for days now but havent come by how to static time,lots of posts telling others to do a static time but no step by step.
even searched the forums under"static time" nothing

I posted it on your other original post about timing marks. Hope it can help you. As for the spark board or spark gap tester you actually do not need one to test the spark gap instead just to ground all spark plugs. It looks like this one. However, you can easily make one up using nails and screws on a wooden board connected together with copper wire and grounded to the engine block using a connector clip.
