OK to sit on mud?

We live on the coast of South Carolina, on a tidal river. Is it OK to moor a toon (we have a Bennington 20) so that it settles gently onto the mud at low tide?

I'm just concerned that it will bend the frame over time. Thanks for your reply! Erik

I doubt sitting on pluff mud will hurt your pontoon boat structurally, but you might want to keep an eye on the pontoons for salt water corrosion and leakage.

You'll probably be ok but check carefully for rocks or other debris that might puncture the toons.

Should be fine. You might get a pock mark or two on your toons, but I'd be surprised if that even happens. Don't think you'll have any frame issues at all.

Just remember that he tubes are hollow and will dent, they can put up with a tremendous load if it is spread out like water but a pinpoint load will dent them so as stated make sure there are no rocks and you should be fine.

When the boat are loaded at the factory they are picked up from the bow eyes and the back of the boat so no you aren't going to bend the tubes.

I would worry more about the engine, make sure it is tilted high enough and you should be fine.

Probably wont hurt but you could place something underneath, old life jackets, the neighbors barking dog, tires that kind of thing.
