Trailers don't like it. Rinse it off the trailer if you use it.

I recommend using sno-bol toilet cleaner cut about 50/50 with water.

Also, buy yourself a cheap roll of visqueen and cut a few long pieces to drape over your trailer. Some tape or bungee cords will keep the plastic from being blasted off buy the hose or a breeze.

I always had to fight tannic (sp?) acid stains here in the Florida lakes and the sno-bol did a great job for around 2 bucks a bottle. I also used a pump sprayer to spray it on fast. Have your hose at the ready and rinse it off as soon as the stains disappear. No scrubbing needed. Even with the extra prep work its still easier than scrubbing!!!

There's a gel acid wash that's especially for boats. I used it this past year with good results. MaryKate On & Off. Works well. And they warn you to keep it off the trailer. I covered my rails and everything I could with plastic bags.

Good advice. They are oxalic acid and not dangerous.

I use some oxalic acid stuff I get from west marine. I squirt it on a sponge and gently rub it on the hull. No scrubbing or work involved. I rinse it off after a minute or two. No need to cover the trailer because I am not spraying acid everywhere. I do wear rubbergloves.

I use Sprinkler rust remover from Home Depot. Comes in a gallon container for 8 bucks. Way better than 12 bucks a pint at West Marine.

It has a higher concentration too so I cut it with water.
