Ok to use teflon tape on fuel line fittings?

Greetings Board Members, I'm installing a fuel filter/water separator for my Mercury 60hp EFI and was wondering if Teflon tape would be appropriate for sealing the threads on the brass fittings. If not, what is the recommended method for sealing fuel system threaded connections? Thank you..............Lee

You can use whatever you want before the filter. After the filter don't use teflon. The pieces break off and can clog injectors. I like the permatex aviation #3 sealant for pipe threads.

Thanks wired247, will take your advice, I will use the yellow type Teflon tape leading into the filter.
