In 21 days you may have to consider Mn's Mille Lacs lake. Seriously tho, it looks like a great trip.........

BTW, every Canadian lake is a prop buster.......

We've been going about 60 miles up the logging roads, NW of Upsala for years. Know the lakes well enough to run WOT with no worries.

THis year, new water, nice facilities, and only a couple miles off the hiway on a nice road.
We will be near one of the river outflows, so the current should have it opened up.


If you and grub1grub2 will make sure to plow the roads so I can get to Superior, I think I will be able to make it the rest of the way.

Can do, you may neeed it. This year I may have to leave the plow on until June, just to be safe. The Gubner cancelled his trip up here this weekend....... He's rescheduling in a couple weeks....lol

Welcome to the 2013 Wisconsin Fishing Opening Day in beautiful NW WI. Bring your parka and leave the boat..........

Where the orange fence is, is supposed to be a public dock. The "hard water" is closer to shore than it appears. Haven't even seen a boat going down the road....

We pretty much jumped fro 45, to 70.

Lakes in the northern 1/3 of WI are still iced in.

Same here. 40 to upper 60's, low 70s overnight. Should be decent temps this week. Hopefully, the lakes will be out by next weekend.... Most of the snow left today.....

This bs is hard to take. I love the rain but not necessarily every weekend. We got out on the water yesterday after a shower went through. Then of course, it stayed windy and cloudy. Sun just peaking through thin clouds. Temps had dropped to 75. Wind gust to 25 mph. What I am really disturbed about is today's high is expected to be only 73 with full sunshine. 10 degrees below normal. High tomorrow is back in the 60s with lows in the 40s!!! Won't really warm back to the 80s until Wednesday. The cycle of warm to chilly continues. I read where this is the number 2 coldest spring in US history of keeping records. The season seems short enough during normal times

Went up to see see the parents in N Mn yesterday. It was very windy, 40? and SNOWING!!!!! It's their fishing opener and the lakes are still froze. Ours are just opening up. One is still froze over pretty good yet. Tuesday they're talking 80. Land of extremes...:facepalm:

ps. The furnace is still kicking in.....

up here last thursday it was 81f and friday it was 38 and snowing .last year we were in the mid 70,s all may and 80,s in june while i was out on the west cost in the friggin rainforest (vancouver island )all of june.worst weather ive had for a month of vacation ever.guess this year is payback for my daughter who gets to laugh at our crappy weather.

They got it right for a change, 92 right now and shooting for 94 today. Time to break out the cut offs and sandals!!! I think spring may finally be here. However, I suspect by next week it will be full blown summer...

Unless you're in WI. But we "only" hit the 80's. There's a forest fire straight west of us. We can see the smoke which is going over our little burg. I guess they called in air support....... The sun gets filtered by the smoke and gives the area a yellow hue. Snow one day, forest fires the next.......

Well, the fire turned out to be a big to do. Ended up going thru the north side of town after jumping a few major roads about a mile thru the woods from us. We evacuated because there was so much smoke on the ground and the winds blew hard. We didn't know where it was headed at that time. A mess of people had to be evacuated and went to the neighboring school. Some went to another town to ride out the nite. A bunch of houses were burned. They're still fighting it.... Going to be a mess when it gets light out and we can see what actually happened......

Still cold some mornings here in MA . . . 34F this morning as I was leaving the house. I have been holding off from starting the engines up due to the cold nights. Didn't want to take any chances.

I'm going to start them up today. I got a couple of days off from work, so final preps on the boat over the next 2 days.

That's nuts . . . Probably shortening your boating season by a month or so. Do you think it will be warm enough to swim by July?

Not this year.....

Here's a couple pix over our house before the ground filled with smoke and we left. Turned out the fire was about 1.5 miles north of us... They're still working on part of it..... The red in the bottom pic is the sun.

YIKES!, thats one smokey fire buddy.
For the most part around here the forest fires hit the firs and ceders and away they go from crown to crown, really fast moving and really hot.
I can see by the smoke that that fires moving through leaves and grass making for one smokey/smouldering fire.
Fingers are crossed that everything goes good for you.
