Hi everyone, been away from boating for over a year due to a big move, but just about 2 weeks ago bought another boat, it isn't new but it is extremely new to me since I have never had a boat of this type or even this large. My boat is a 1977 Cobalt inboard with an outdrive. The issue I am having is I can get the trim to move but for some reason the whole lower unit will not move. This boat is a bit intimidating to me right now and I am afraid to push on the switches on the dashboard too much because I am not sure what they do. I tried to put the boat in the water this afternoon and that was when I found out that the whole outdrive or lower unit wouldn't go down. Is there a lock or something i am missing that will allow it to stay up so it don't drag on the ramp or road? As I said in the title, any help would be greatly appreciated.
