I have tought about this for a long time but never posted this topic. The best movie ever? My favorite movie ever is... The Commitments. Dam* it's about everything. I don't play any instrument but I'd love to, but I can't. Come on guys, wich is your favorite? I have a close second, Scareface (1982). But wich is yours?<br />We seldom talk abot what we do for a living. I work for Swedish Filmindusti since 1977. I was 18 years old then. I have seen quite a lot of movies. But nothing like The Commitments. Ever. I had the opportunity to visist Dublin in 2001. I liked it a lot but it has noting to to with it. The movie wasn't even shot in Dublin? I bet you never even saw that movie. Anyway I have seen my favorite about 10 times (four times this weekend). You can't talk me out of it. So I'm just curious.

My favorite movie is "Key Largo" with Humphrey Bogart. <br /><br />Trivia question, what was the name of the boat used in the last half hour of the movie??

"The Usual Suspects" - Great story line, alot of action, talented actors, and a brilliant climatic plot twist that sends your brain into overdrive... all around 'best of all time' movie in my opinion; and I've seen alot of movies.

"Gone With The Wind" has to be one of the best, but the films that I watch over and over are mostly Bogart films.<br /><br />Casablanca<br />Treasure of the Sierra Madre<br />The Caine Mutiny<br />The African Queen<br />We're No Angels (with Peter Ustinoff and Aldo Ray)<br /><br />And a few John Wayne films.<br /><br />The Searchers<br />Red River<br />In Harm's Way<br />The Cowboys <br /><br />Also<br /><br />Dances With Wolves<br /><br />Which is the BEST? I think it is one of the above.

Always liked space movies<br />Close Encounters ,Alien, Star Wars.<br />Most watched movie, <br />probably The Ten Commandments

I like a lot of them and actually my favorite list changes as new movies come out or I decide I like one better but as far as most favorite currently it wouls have to be "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?" Although several new movies are good too I just could watch that one then watch it agian and perhaps even a third time in a row.<br />It's not that my Christmas is boring but I got an Air Hockey table to put together for my girls (it's the only thing they have asked for since we went on vacation that has not changed). I have to wait till I am sure they are in bed before I can do it and if I am on the computer it will help keep me up.

I'm with PFB.. My current favorite is Oh Brother, Where art thou?... Watched it two times in the last three days... <br /><br />Some of my favorites are as follows.. <br /><br /> Drama = The Shawshank Redemption.<br />Comedy = (EDIT) Caddyshack.. <br />Si-Fi = Close Encounters of the Third Kind.<br /><br />And for what it's worth, My all time absolute favorite movie is "The Endless Summer"...

The Abyss,On Golden Pond,Charlie Varrick,Die Hard I,Rainman,A Few Good Men,Turner and Hooch,Deliverance,and some of the above.<br />I can't :confused: make up my mind.

For me, it's difficult to name a favorite movie overall. It depends on the genre...so here goes<br /><br /> Sci Fi- Aliens. Nothing comes close except Alien.<br /> Comedy- Man With Two Brains. Funniest movie ever.<br /> Western-True Grit. Enough said.<br /> Action- Saving Private Ryan. War really is hell.<br /> Suspense- Seven. Makes Silence Of The Lambs look <br /> like a cartoon.<br /> Romantic- An Affair To Remember and the remake:<br /> Love Affair.<br /> Animated- Beauty And The Beast with Mulan a close <br /> second.<br /> Musical- Grease. Wouldn't you just love to peel <br /> that black outfit off Olivia Newton-<br /> John had on at the end of the movie?<br /> Well, the wife is through wrapping the kid's presents. It's time for me to do my job... apply the bows. Merry Christmas and good health to all.

I get to wait for the kids and wife to get up for presents. So my favorites are....<br />Star Wars<br />The original Star Trek<br />Yep you guessed it I love Sci-Fi<br />Merry Christmas All And Happy New Year when it gets here. :D :cool:

I've only seen two thirds of it so far, but the Lord of the Rings is definatly top of my list.<br /><br />Ever since University, I've read the books almost once a year and the movie version is just awesome and is a great rendition of the books.<br /><br />Just can't wait for next Christmas.<br /><br />Merry Christmas to all.

The Longest Day, 12 O'clock High , The African Queen, On Golden Pond, The Cowboys. All great movies with great actors.

Caddy Shack was the only comedy mentioned !<br /> Good flick, but "AIRPLANE" has got to be one of the funniest (all right,corny) movies ever made! Animal House a close second. After an eleven hour day,with commute, I need a laugh....TOMMY

The only movie that I make any effort to see every year or so is "Cool Hand Luke". My favorite western was actually a TV movie "Lonesome Dove". Maybe the greatest western movie of all time.

HO HO HO..!!!<br /><br />lonesome dove's a good one..!!<br /><br />saw an interview with robert duvall.. he said he was put on earth to play augustus mccreay...that's sayin' somethin'..!!<br /><br />did you know JB,,that gone with the wind, africian queen , king kong, grapes of wrath, withering heights, an the wizard of oz all came out the same year...??? 1939..<br /><br />it's a tough one ,, but was really blown away with 'quest for fire'by stanley kubrick..<br /><br />top action : tied with the first indiana jones & 'cliffhanger'..<br /><br />comedy: king pin<br /><br />war: private ryan & pork chop hill<br /><br />tear jerker : old yeller & lassie come home<br /><br />sci fi : ET & star wars<br /><br />horror : excersist<br /><br />read an artical on the makin' of 'cliffhanger' ... a camera man got hit by lightin' two times prior in his life.. while filming ,, he got hit ,,, threw off a 15 foot cliff onto a leadge .. an got hit again.. later in the filming ,, he got hit two more times...<br /><br />hands down , flat-out, my favorite tv show is 'andy griffith show'<br /><br /># 2 ...
