heehee, another oil one.....Im thinkin in N. CA 10-30 or 10-40(manual says), 20/50 seems to thick? 4 cyl 2.0 dual cam, well maint. , thinkin next change(OIL REALLY CLEAN NOW after recent change before I got her) maybe snythetic like the Yukon? Also neighbor suggested one qt. Rislone at change in place of 1 qt oil, I used that stuff years ago and seemed good. And tranny fluid looks ok, maybe old, not burnt, but want to swap filter and fluid(not power flush) and i have no records of all past maint. I put a can of B12 in gas tank, and just may do fuel filter, she runs good anyways. Also it had the headgasket and valve seals done approx. 15K ago, due to it sitting so long, doesnt burn or leak anything. Geez when it was 8 years old it only had 22K on it!!!! Saw the last registration! Am trying to stay way budget concious as this car was cheap, is in great shape and a commuter. Any hints would be great as usual, Thanks

Put in what the manual says. Why second guess what the designers decided.

the manual says 10-30-1040 for between 30 and 90 degrees, Im thinkin 10/30 to make sure startup lube is good for twin cams ? :)

tranny fluid should be changed every 50-75 thousand miles so if you don't know if it has been done then i would do it

there's no difference between 10/30 and 10/40 at startup.

With any multi vis oil.....
The first number is a reference to how well oil flows when its cold. The lower the number the more viscous (thin) it is.
The second number is a referece to how thick the oil stays under normal operating tempratures. The higher the number, the thicker it is.
