I have an old sea King 3 hp. I brought it to the lake for a week and it ran great for the first 3 days. Then I had it out one morning and ran it I then shut it off and since then it hasn't started once. I changed the plug, I checked for a good consistent spark and it is there, but I don't think I am getting gas. I also pulled the carburetor off and it seems like there is just a little tiny hole that leads the cylinder, but from there I am really not sure what to do or what to look for. I have a very minimal knowledge of motors so any help would be appreciated.

look on the mounting bracket for a model number. From your description I'm
guessing number will begin with two digits followed by GG or begin with GG
A number of companies made Sea King we can identify be model number.

Re: old 3 hp Sea king

First thing I'd do is disconnect the fuel line from the built-in tank to the carburetor, then open the fuel valve. If fuel doesn't flow freely, odds are good that the filter or screen in the tank is clogged. That's pretty common. I don't know about that one, but most fuel valves can be unscrewed from the bottom of the tank. The screen or filter comes out with it.

If that's not it, pull the bowl off the carburetor and operate the float manually, with the fuel line reattached. If no fuel flows with the float down, you probably have a stuck needle. Often, if you work it a few times, it will free up enough for you to use some more.

If that's not it, you'll have to clean all the carb orifices. Careful, here...a carb kit may be hard to get, depending on the model.

Again, give us the model number off the outboard and we can tell you more.

I have a gg9002b. I have a lot of trouble getting it started then once it started had trouble keepin it running. I cleaned out the carb, but didn't think about replacing the gasket until I opened it. Where can I gat a new carb gasket for one of these?

Its bad form to hijack a thread as it confuses things.Post your on thread,
you will get more help.More than likely you will need to make your own gasket.Get some gasket material from NAPA.
