Got an old 30lb Motorguide Pro with a boat I bought. It doesn’t work, so I decided to tinker with it. This model only seems to use a speed wheel, a micro switch, and a 3 way toggle. No circuit board. The motor spins with what I would call normal resistance by hand.
It has Black/red 10ga wires and blue/yellow 14ga wires.
I located the black/red wires that go direct to the lower unit and plugged straight to known 12v to bypass all the stuff interior pedal and got nothing. Does there need to be some level of voltage on the blue/yellow?
I pulled the lower unit apart. Enough to take a look. Out was clean+dry, with no hint of water intrusion. Magnets were in place.
I’ve never worked on one of these before, so I’m stumped. Maybe something bad with the items in the front of the lower?
