Old boat motor

My friend has an old motor that we have no idea of the year,make or horsepower.The only numbers we could find on it were J350 1000B 349652.The motor does not have a hood on it and it has a small tank on top of it.It is a dark green in color.Any help is appreciated.

the green's are Mark?'s how many cylinders/plugs?<br />these motors were tanks! are you gonna restore it?<br />parts are readily avail. and lot's of experience<br />on this site with these old girls <br />good luck,<br />M.Y.

Need a photo to tell. some Johnsons are green, as well as Elgins and Mercs. All depends on when it was made and the model.
