Hi Kelson,
Sears put the Elgin motor out. I checked the Sears website and couldn't get anything on the model # you provided.
Suggest you check the compression. If it's good, since you have good spark, I'd say thoroughly clean the carburator (it's probably pretty gummed up). All an outboard needs to run is compression, fuel, & properly timed spark. Not too sure where you will find a repair manual on that motor.
Backlash

This engine was manufactured by Westbend, which begat Chrysler, which begat U.S. Marine, which begat Force, which begat Mercury. What parts, if any, that are still available can be purchased through a Mercury dealer or maybe as aftermarket parts through generic outboard parts distributers. The parts got hard to find on these back in the early seventies because Chrysler came up with different designs as soon as they took over in 1963.

Internetoutboards is right. I read Elgin & saw Gamefisher. Man, I'm getting more & more of these "senior moments" lately. Sorry if I caused any confusion. I'd still check the compression & clean the carb though.
Backlash :)

She's a 1960 7.5hp 2 cylinder. 571.59281 is the model number which identifies it. Like Elvin said, it's an outboard west bend made for Sears.
I don't have much info on it other than the oil mix ratio is 20:1.

Howdy, Kelson.

Welcome to iboats. :)

Check out the "Outboard wont start" article in the Engine FAQ section. That ought to get you on the right track to getting her started.

Good luck. :)
