Any idea on the year of this old Elgin?<br /><br />

I'm sure no expert but it looks a whole lot like my 1951 7 1/2 Elgin except for the fuel line. Mine is rubber and a much shorter run. There should be some lower covers. Elgin put the model & serial no. on a plate on the tiller.

I remember one very similar was I was a kid. I'm too, was thinking real early 50's. The lower cowl is gone, no plates anywhere, and I found this number on the side today. 701-1633. Pulled it all apart, and looks like a ring broke and stuck in the port. The good stuff will go to ebay.
