Old Evenrude Question - StarFlite 90 and 100 - lower ends interchange?

Just wondering if they do...

I've got a pretty screwed up StarFlite 100 (67???), and while I am looking at what it will take (if it's possible) to make the thing run again without major investment, I've also possibly got a line on a running '63 StarFlite 90, with lower end problems (won't go into forward).... Both use 'selectric' electric-shift lowers...

So, can I attach the lower end from the 100 to the 90, or are they totally different items?

If no, how 'compatible' are the lower-end internals (electronics, gears, etc)???

Are you refering to engines made from 1964 thru 1968? If so, and both engines are 20" models, the bolt paterns are the same. The gearcases are completely different but should bolt up. I don't know if the crankshaft/drive shaft have the same splines. Water tubes from the pump to the engine block might be different, you would have to compare.

The gearcase, and exhaust housingoth are different.

The exhaust housings are the same for the 1964 -65 90hp and 1966 - 68 100hp

Yep, the 100 uses an adapter section to make the different lower unit fit the same exhaust housing.
