old evinrude, how old?

this is the number on it,, 4351-00318,, what year is it??<br />and it does not have the spark plug in it, does any one know what plug should be in it??<br />thanks for any help,,,,,

According to Peter Hunn's Old Outboard Book, your motor is a 1940 Evinrude Ace (1.8hp).<br /><br />sounds like an interesting one....
