old evinrude info needed

I need as much info as possible model/hp/gas-oil ratio year the only tag says 4287 02119 it is a 2 cylinder very old engine.

Model number 4287 is a 1938 3hp Evinrude. Although my expertise doesn't go back quite that far, I would strongly suspect the fuel/oil ratio to be 24/1 (1qt 50/1 oil to 6 gal gas).

I agree with Joe on the fuel mix; 24:1.<br /><br />Set points at .020. Use Champion J8C plugs gapped at .030.<br /><br />Good luck.

I will ask my OMC dealer they have been there 101 years . get back to u asap jon.
