Old Evinrude Info Wanted

I have an old one cylinder Evinrude with a patent date in 1911. I believe it was manufactured in the second year of Evinrude manufacturing. The serial number is B 16549. The motor has the original paint and labeling and is in good condition. I aquired the motor in about 1953 from a farmer in Minnesota and actually got it to run one time that year. I would like to sell the motor now. It would make a great collectors item or a museum display. Any inputs would be appreciated.

Hm-m-m, That serial number does not appear in the list of "B" models in my book. Could be anywhere from 1913-1915 era. Try posting an inquiry at www.aomci.org If you want to sell it, post a free ad on their Webvertize classified ads page. Somebody will grab it.

Double check the model number. 16549 is a 1913 model number, but the "B" series motors didn't come along until 1915. We'd love to see a photo.

Beautiful motor, FR. I don't normally collect motors that old, but I'd make an exception for one that one.
