f_r and some of the other guys on here have been saying right along it doesnt work they are right. lol i have the burned and melted dual points to prove it.
my motor was rigged up by its previous owner and i have fought it for 2 seasons. never ran right no matter what i did its a 72 starflight 125 and they previous owner had gotten rid of the sensor and put dual points on it.
the pulse pack blew a few weeks ago and i was pretty fed up with this thing anyway so i bought an msd coil, ballast and condensor. hooked it all up according to the instructions on here from other folks. It ran on the muffs. took it to the lake and it started and ran but wouldn't develop power then it quit. the points were blue and the rubbing blocks were melted off. my engine never should have had points to begin with and a lot of the senior guys on here said it was probably a crank out of a different motor, tuned out it was the proper crank but they took off the sensor and filed flat spots on the crank to work the points. i put the proper sensor, trigger and pulse pack on it and it runs rings around my friends with smaller boats and newer motors lol
i bought a force 125 to replace this old rude with, its in the storage shed because this 37 year old rude is twice the motor now that it has its original parts and runs properly. save the frustration buy the correct parts (listen to the senior members on here they know what they are talking about)
