My Dad had an old Johnson 65 motor given to him. He needs to get the serial number off of it for insurance purposes but can't seem to find it. Any idea where he should look to find it. Thanks!<br />John H.
The model and serial number should be on a plate somewhere near the transom mount. If that plate is gone, you may find the serial number on a freeze plug on the top of the engine, after removing the engine cover.
