Re: old johnson td-45
The TD-15 is neither rare, not particularly "valuable" in the monetary sense. Though not as common as the later TD-20, there are still lots of TD-15s out there to be had. Value of any vintage outboard is in the eyes of the buyer - not the seller. Any collector who has been to a few swap meets knows that old motors are just that, old. On the plus side, the TD-Series are great little motors, run excellent when set up correctly and will continue to do so with modest maintenance. The very common-ness of the motor makes it a great little motor to tinker with as there are lots of donor motors as a parts source. It's value as a service motor - of use to a Fisherman with a soft spot for the motor Grampa used to run - is likely more than to a collector who can easily find a half-dozen similar motors without much effort....<br />- Scott
