I replaced the damn needle and seat and new float and both carbs still leak gas. Also when I pump the ball gas somehow makes it straight down to the exhaust. I'm guessing fuel pump? Anyway it's not my motor it's a buddies I'm just the mech. He bought a pos. He bought it without talking to me first. I hate these old mercs. Very hard to work on. Anyway any help with the carb issue would he great. It's the stupid dynafloat bs. I absolutely love my 02 200merc but these older ones blow. Thanks guys :)

Andrew, I agree about setting the float height on the carbs on those motors. It can be tough. I had an old 4 cylinder 650 and I either starved the motor at high RPMS or the bowls leaked fuel. There was no in between for me when setting the heights. Had the same problem on a 1986 115. But those motors run like a chimp with its ass on fire!!
