are you carrying extra water weight, wet foam. you can try moving your tilt pin out 1 hole at a time to bring the bow up. what you have is plowing.

What TD said plus your hull may have a hook in it. Does it drive the bow down more the faster you go?

Does it have a hydrofoil on it?

If it has a hydrofoil on the motor remove it, any trim tabs? raise them up, and retry.

If not check the hull for hook (It will look concaved along the length of the keel). If it does you can do some glasswork and fill it in to bring it back straight. Then check your trailer, hooks are usually caused by improper setup of the rollers or bunks on the trailer and the hull eventually forms to the discrepancies.

A hydrofoil is likely to make this condition dramatically worse and they are not popular here. Let's get her right to start with, and then work on any additons after that . . . ;)

You should consider/adjust trim as td noted above as well as the hook discussions. Those are the first two places to look. The point being that they need to be tried and/or eliminated to help you with this issue.

i tried all 5 trim settings and it seemed to be the same on all of them. except the top 2 which i could not even get it up on plane.

as far as the hook, i just went and looked at it and it dont look to have any.

yes old monarks have foam. suggest taking a hole saw, in a drill cut a 2 inch hole in the deck, save the plug. twist a piece of pvc into the foam. then check the core. if dry use 3m5200 to put plug back in.

i did what you said and there wasnt any foam. there was nothing but soaking wet rotted plywood.

could this be adding weight??

hah well I'd imagine water-logged, rotten plywood would weigh a ton! It would weigh the same as if the whole boat was full of water! Besides, I don't think you want rotten wood all in your boat, unless it's an environmental thing ;).

I know I used to have a wooden deck on my little 14ft. and when it rained (before I put some paint on it) it would get water-logged and I couldn't even get on a plane.

Re: old Monark not planing right??

its not even attached to the fiberglass floor anymore. its fallen off and onto the bottom. i will probably remove it and put in a new floor. i cut a 1 1/2 inch hole and i could see this nasty stuff! i am afraid of cutting the floor up and there not be alot in there.
