I have about a 1984 Novurania Cancuro 420. It has not been used in years but stored well loosely rolled. It is still a good boat I believe.

How can I remove Armor All etc?

The floorboards are wood and they and the keel have some warping, am considereing covering with 1/8 inch aluminum?

I have cross bar steering but need to build or purchase a seat box for comfort and storage, any thoughts?

I am considering raising the transom 5 inches so I can use a standard shaft 25 Yamaha. It is used in the past with a short shaft (15inch) Merc 25. I want to use a standard shaft 20 inch Merc or Yamaha 25. I would laminate with 3/16 aluminum and wood filler and build a removable transom brace that would tie into the wooden keel spar. The 20 inch shaft engine just seems more--uh---versatile?

The floor boards have popped out some in the past on the sides, any thoughts on how to make the floor system more rigid?

Use, primarily scuba diving and playing around. This is a grey and orange Hypalon boat.

Any thoughts and suggestions on these Cancuros? I wonder if parts are available such as floors etc?

What kinds of trailers and set up are recommended for such a boat?

A few years ago I pulled it out, cleaned it up, worked on it some and put it away, this is the boat.

Re: Old Novurania Cancuro 420

Nice looking boat. I have the same steering set up. Use an old rubbermaid trunk for seat/storage. Fits nicely between the tubes, strong enough to sit on and provides a utility space behind for fuel, etc. Secured the trunk to the tubes with webing and caribiners I got at Wal-mart. An alternative would be a marine cooler that is strong enough to sit on.

Don't know what you mean by removing armor-all, unless you are worried about patches not sticking. Not a problem until you get a hole. I've been told 3M 303 is a better protectant, so I'd just start using it.

On the floorboards are the tubes properly inflated? Do you have a wooden keel? If tubes are properly inflated and all parts properly assembled , Floor becomes very tight and doesn't move around much.

Good Luck

Yes, this boat has a wooden keel. The Achilles and others I have had before were inflatable keels. The keel tends to push up on the floors and pop them out, never a huge problem, just an annoyance.

The Armor All is a worry because I want to add a few accesories and possibly one very small repair. Could I use an automotive paint prep product for removing silicone --just from the repair areas? Or maybe just a good washing with Dawn detergent and never--use--that--c--p again? Yeah, the 303, I leanred it about that stuff late, got some now.

Nope, not for sale but I do need to save my pennies for an engine. I want a Yamaha 25 two stroke or an older Merc 25 two stroke, electric start. We had a Merc 35 on this boat for several seasons before going back to a 25. The 25 just seems better for our uses. I am afraid of these chunky modern four strokes being simply to heavy. This boat does also have the landing gear for beach launches and recovery. It punches through four foot rollers pretty good, just hang on till past the surf line.

Oh, let me add, thank you for the thoughts, it is appreciated.
