Old OMC Starter Motors

Does anyone know if the starter motors used in the middle/late 50s 30-35 hp motors, are usable on a 15hp motor of the same era? Is it the same starter? Will it fit in a bracket for the 15 hp model?

I am no expert but I believe the starter is different. There is a specific starter for the 9.9 - 15hp engines.

Jay, I don't have absolute metaphysical certitude, but I don't think the 18 and 15 starters will match up to the starter bracket holes of the big twins. I'm almost positive the big twin starters are shorter and fatter than the 15hp starters. I have an electric start big twin and a '57 18 if you want me to double check.
