Re: Old SeaKing 7HP outboard

My info indicate 73 built by Clinton.Out of business for some time.
Aircooled powerhead water cooled leg.A compremise motor at best.
Noise, vibration, fiddly operation, under powered. But an inexpensive entry to outboards if you don't have to buy a lot of parts.
I believe CEPCO may have help and parts at 563-652-2411 you'll probably have to leave a message.

Thanks Steelespike,

It is a Clinton motor. The old thing will run but not very well and have trouble starting it, then when it heats up it wants to die and not start. What fuel mix should I use in it ? I think I used 32/1 when I tried it last Summer.

Thanks Again.

Fuel mix is 48:1. Water should mist out of the relief holes in the leg.
I would check spark when it dies.next fuel flow.

Re: Old SeaKing 7HP outboard

Thanks again Steelespike !

Fuel mix may have contributed to the problem. I am just now starting to think about getting everything ready for spring. Not sure I want to put money into this motor. I got it and a trolling motor with a boat I bought last summer, sort of a package deal, so not really much invested so far.

Thanks again.

I have a 1963 seaking 40hp doing the same thing get it running, then I have to use my throttle as a choke to keep it going, then finally run for about 10 seconds an die.I use 30:1 ratio ,it recommends 24:1 what should I do?
