This boat has been in my wifes family for around 30 years I guess. Her mother learned to waterski behind it, she learned to ski with it as well and my children have tubed behind it. No one in the family has a use for it now and sadly i need to get rid of her (the boat!). I have done some research but can't get a clear picture on what she is worth. Boat is from the 70's all aluminum, has a 50hp merc (serial number 7022354 - don't know if that helps with the year or not). seats were all taken out and the floor was replaced couple of years ago. no seats put back in (more room for fishing was the idea I guess) merc runs great, has a little trouble getting an adult out of the water but has no trouble for the kids.
anyway just thought I would put it out there for some ideas

thanks all

Re: Old starcraft 15' holiday

Looks strangely familier :) Anyway, I wouldn't expect to get much more than a grand for it. The closed bow design is completely impractical and not too desireable. I'm going to be trying to sell mine soon and don't expect to get too much for it. I figure the reason I don't want it is the same reason no one else will want it. I'm looking to trade up to a bowrider.

Re: Old starcraft 15' holiday

Here (in Winnipeg), if anything floats and runs it seems to be worth $1000 no matter how ugly. Yours looks quite sharp. I have my wife's family's old 60's 14' fiberglass with chrysler 45 that still runs OK. With the trailer (which is in sad shape), and I'd still list it at $1000. Yours is better... and I think older aluminum boats have better resale than old fiberglass boats. Probably be $2000-2500 here. (?) The lack of seats may hurt the value. What was used lately, lawn chairs? Do you still have the seats? Could they be put back in easily?

I'm not selling my oldie because it still runs and works for tubing with the kids, and, best of all, is free. If I sold it, I'd just have to spend more money to buy something else (which probably wouldn't fit in the boathouse anyway). Eventually I'd like an aluminum fish/ski with about a 70 hp motor... but will wait a year or two. (unless the chrysler dies in the meantime)

If you intend to try and get top dollar out of the boat, have it someplace where it can be water tested for prospective buyers. If it can't be water tested, the selling price will probably be lower.

good luck

You are in a more competitive market than I am in Nova Scotia, in my area you could get $3000 if it had a trailer and was presented all cleaned up and polished. Nice looking boat.

Re: Old starcraft 15' holiday

I have a 1977 Starcraft Holiday 15 runabout. Looks exactly like your boat Woodee. I have been researching the market here in the NorthEast corner of NY and adjoining VT areas. Boats like these usually run from $900. to $2,500. Big factor in price is the age and condition of your motor. I have a 1976 Evinrude 25hp in GC and expect to be able to sell this season for about $ 1,200. Havn't posted it yet on Craigslist or local WantAD paper.
