Old Starcraft Aluminum boats

In my quest to find the manufacture of my 14 ft closed bow runabout, I have noticed that there are very few pictures of Starcrafts. I wonder why that is. I read that they have been in business since the late 1800's. I think the reason I can't find older pictures (earlier than the 50's) from most of the other runabout makers is that they were not around then. The ones that were don't look like mine. I think I have a pretty old boat, so I'll have to find a manufacture that has been around for some time. Does any one have pictures of old Starcrafts or any other manufacture that has been around before the 50's.

I'd like to say Thanks to all the guys that have responded to my other posts and thanks in advance for any future help any of you can give.

You have 3 threads going about the same thing.

What you are searching for just might not be available. Have you tried ebay for old antique boating magazines?

(that boat doesn't quite strike me as a Starcraft, but I could be wrong)

I have checked EBay (it's one of my favorite information gathering sources) and all manners of open internet searching. As I come up with new ideas or I close the door on an old one, I'll put up a thread with a different title to attract someone that might not look at every thread that is posted or one about Arkansas Traveler boats or other specific types of boats. I don't look at all the threads myself, only the ones that interest me by the title. Can I close the others out? If so how do I do that? I'm not trying to cause any trouble, just looking for any help I can get. With all that I am learning, I'm sure I will be a great help for someone else looking to find the manufacture of their boat. I already click on any thread with a title that suggest they are looking to identify or put a date on their boat to see if I can help. If you need any help, just drop me a line, I'll be glad to assist, I've built a pretty good data base already on these little boats.:)

I'm Casey, I'm 45 years old and Own an auto repair business. I have been boating for years and have been restoring "things" my whole adult life, cars mostly, but I've also restored appliances, furniture and tools just to name a few. I'm also restoring an 1989 Bayliner. I like taking something from the grave and bringing it back to a like new state.

I'll drop by the link you posted and introduce myself to them as well. Thanks for your help.

You may take a look around fiberglassics site in the aluminum boat section. They have more info and links for your research.

BTW, I don't think your boat is a Starcraft.

Well the aluminum boat is the way to go and whole heck of allot less torture then the Bayliner ;)

LOL the Bayliner has actually not been bad. It's a center console with the complete inner hull that funneled the water out the back instead of like the Bayliner ski boats or bow riders that collected the water in the hull when it rains, so the stringers were all still like new even after 23 years. Mostly repairing things that the previous owners had done at a much lower skill level than to my liking and sun bleached seats covers, paint and such, installing a bunch of new stainless steal hardware, you know the drill. I'll post some pictures when I get it cleaned up. The little aluminum boat will be all dolled out, and I hope to get started on it soon. I see me having the most fun in it.

If you've got a good solid base to start with, no matter what the brand, the rest is cake! Good luck on the tinny & hope to see your progress pics as you go along.
