I was starting to look at my trailer and noticed the two bunks made out of pressure treated 2X4's are running in a v not straight across. Is this normal i thought that the bunks should run straight across supporting the sides.

They Look weird but do they fit between the strakes? Yes they are suppose to run straight not in a V like the image you posted.

I have never seen any run in a V. There is really no way that they could be supporting the way they were intended to. I would defiantly change them.

If your drawing is correct. I think the bunks and brackets are home made. The brackets look to be on the wrong angle and the bunks are too long. They normally don't go that far forward and should not stick out past the back of the transom. The transom should fully rest on them however. look at other trailers for an idea of how they should be. Check out this link.
