would any one else like to see a forum dedicated to just old outboards? any make and model. i personally feel this would help many users get the info they are looking for, and pass on lots of great tips and knowledge about the vintage stuff without cluttering up the general topic forums!
this would be great for us newbies to the old motor bug, and good for the guys who really know thier stuff and would like to help keep these classics on the water.

Re: old (what is old) outboard motor forum?

I guess an "old motors" forum would depend on your age. To me "old" is 40s or 50s maybe 60s.
I'm 68.I was excited when the Evinrude fat 50 came out in 58. I don't sense a lack of responses about "older" motors. From the 40s or the 80s.
There is the Antique Outboard Motor club at www.aomci.org for the dedicated "older"
motor fan.

an "old" outboard forum shouldnt depend on age of the poster....just the age of the motor. there is a big difference between a modern engine power pack/efi question compared to a "vintage" engine general parts/problem/general question. this forum seems so popular...which is a good thing! ......that with sooo many posts , the new guys with the old motor bug....have their posts getting lost in the shuffle. just my thought......but a dedicated forum would keep things a bit more specific.
thanks for the link!!!!! i bookmarked it as soon as i saw it!!!
