Hello,
So I had to replace gimbal / transom plates, exhaust y pipes, manifolds, steering to newer 1983 type Alpha One.. Thought I was all set to go as I was dropping in the 1981 305 GM engine I realized the rear engine mount holes on the flywheel housing are much further apart than the holes in the transom plate. I am assuming that I can just replace the flywheel cover (#865657). I would think there is no need to change the flywheel. Am I correct?
You helped me out with my original concern with changing out the manifolds a few months ago (routing hoses/thermostat housing etc.).
