Hi all,

I just acquired a 2hp engine. I'm not sure of the year, but i assume it is from the 70's. It has a sliding throttle from stop- slow- start-fast. there are adjusment knobs for lean/rich for fast and slow. there is a pull out (2 position) choke.

i plan to use it on a small inflatable.

here is my dumb question.

when it starts and runs the prop is moving. is there a prop enagagement lever i'm missing?

how do you startt it in the water if the prop is running all the time? wouldn't you just take off right away?
Is there any way to let it idle and not have the prop move?

i assume you don't want to have the shaft up out of the water for too long, or it will overheat?

I know this is a dumb #%% question, but i can't figure this out!

any help greatly appreciated!

my other thought
