Older boat, OMC tachometer connection help?

I have a 71 Caravelle 16 footer. 60HP Johnson.<br />The boat has an original OMC tach, that is not connected. There are two wires on it, one is grounded, the other was cut, and obviously connects to the enginer or control box somewhere.<br />Can anyone advise where this wire connects? I would like to restore the tach function.<br /><br />Thanks in advance!!<br /><br />Craig

There should be a gray or yellow and gray wire in (or hanging out) of your throtle control box. It's the tach wire. I would be wondering why the wire was cut though. Maybe you should trace the wire and check a wiring diagram.
