It's looking good. The thing about Gluvit is that it's hard to see how much it's dripped until it cures and darkens a little. I was surprised how sloppy mine looked in spots.

Hey, have ya got any Gluvit left to hit the rib and keel ribbits too? Worth the effort if ya do.

I used all I had. I hit all the inside ribbets twice. I was surprised the can was only 3/4 full, is that normal? Doing an experiment, Sanded all the paint off the top with 120 in my random orbit. Left scratches but I think if I go 220, 400, 600 I might be all right to use the self etching primer. The hull I will use stripper on because it is going to stay stripped and polished. Hope it works, I even sanded the trim, worked on a piece by hand with 400 and steel wool and I think it is going to be OK. Done for the day, a little football before work.

Thanks. Mine is very sloppy but I am going to cover it with insulation and 4" cedar T&G.

Ugh, that stuff is so expensive.

Buy another gallon, that way you have an excuse to buy another boat to rebuild. Wouldn't want it to go to waste, eh

Had to take the 14' Starcraft out of the water but I did get to hit the Jetstar with 180 on the random orbit and some steel wool. For some reason the dents just don't seem to bother me, kinda like a 4 wheel drive truck, it's not supposed to be too pretty.

Snuck a second coat on between chores. Put the red trim off the sides in vinegar for a few hours to clean it up. Big mistake. Now it is ugly pink, hope I can replace it.

Don't have neighbors so beer wouldn't attract them. Pulled the boat up into the shop with a come along. The wife was not impressed but she did take some pictures. The boat is taking up a bit more room than I thought so I will have to move a bunch more tools before I get it upside down. Anyway, it's in there

Why thank you truck, I was having fun proving my wife wrong. She thought I couldn't do it alone. Leverage, you know. Unfortunately I can't flip it alone so I have to wait for my hunting buddies, they don't know it yet.

Thanks bighoss. Hope the vacation was great. It's raining today so I am going to try to get it on its side so I can finish stripping the bottom. Should be a trick. My vacation starts next friday. Going to camp to shoot defenseless partridge, one of my favorite passtimes.

Nice progress RG, you will get a bunch done in the shop over the winter too I'm sure.

Hunting for partridge is one of my favorite fall pastimes as well.

Nothing like a good hike in the woods, guns, and some ruffed grouse hopped up on fermented berries
