Sweet..... That's what I thought, your beam width is the same as my boat. If someone is into putting hp. on it, your 16 footer that's setup and balanced right would be a rocket. Think of a offshore cigarette boat, narrow and with the weight, the boat cuts through the water. With the round (soft) chine the ride is smooth and cornering is solid.
I'm not recommending someone to power it up, but it's how versatile the boat is. As you already know, it is a stable boat and being narrow it responds fast when hit from the side by large waves and wakes and you stay dry.

Here's a pic of my boat with the 40 hp. I use it hard, but it's garage kept. The trailer tires are even original, four different boat ramps are within three miles from home and seven more within 6 miles.
