1954 with just a 7.5 Merc. Holsclaw trailer. Provide many a great fishing day on Sebago Lake.
Hate to part with it, but time for a new one. I've had for 3 years, don't know who put the cowl on it but it has come in handy. How you enjoy

epaul..... Welcome aboard.

If you can, keep that boat! If you can't, sell to someone who knows boats. Your boat is a FD model. You will not find a 14' utility boat that will deliver the performance that boat is capable is capable of, even the new ones of other brands. You have a factory installed quarter deck on your boat.

A 1954 FD..... I'm drooling on my keyboard now.

My uncle, who passed away, had a 1956 FD that he bought new and it's being used by his family. I bought my 1968 FD new when I was 18 because of his boat and currently run it with 40 hp., 25 hp. and 4 hp. motors.

Yes, it is a great boat! For even more power. If you would, what does the maximum width of the boat measure, the beam.

She's 53" across.
The little Merc came with it when I bought her. Never got around to more HP becasue it worked great for the fishing I do. Just float of troll along the shore and coves.

Nice looking rig epaul.

River Runner is right, if you can, hold on to that one. If you want to see a really nice FD model, take a look at his boat. Its probably one of the best lookin alumacrafts I have seen on this board.

epaul,

Sweet..... That's what I thought, your beam width is the same as my boat. If someone is into putting hp. on it, your 16 footer that's setup and balanced right would be a rocket. Think of a offshore cigarette boat, narrow and with the weight, the boat cuts through the water. With the round (soft) chine the ride is smooth and cornering is solid.

I'm not recommending someone to power it up, but it's how versatile the boat is. As you already know, it is a stable boat and being narrow it responds fast when hit from the side by large waves and wakes and you stay dry.

Thanks for the boat comments, Pony.

Here's a pic of my boat with the 40 hp. I use it hard, but it's garage kept. The trailer tires are even original, four different boat ramps are within three miles from home and seven more within 6 miles.
