I think all the US posters in this thread need to add a signature line.

Gold Silver Bronze Total 1.

United States 8 12 12 32 2.

Yes, except this thread was SPECIFICALLY about the men's hockey tournament. So any comments about the women's hockey tournament should have been and should be in a new thread. I will post nothing of the sort in my signature line, since none of us agreed on any wager for the women.

Lucky for me a 21" snowfall closed the Academy and I'm home for the start of the USA v Fin game. Bad news is 3" of rain yesterday, 2 ft of snow today, and astronomical tides 3ft above normal meant a basement pond. Looking forward to a good game then 15 gallon deadlifts of the wet/dry vac into the slopsink all night!!!!

Before I can hit send it's 4-0 and the Fin Goalie walked off the ice. Fin seems all out of sorts.

So after one period the US is holding on to a slight lead over the Fins.

6-0 isn't a slight lead?????

Kiprusoff has been just brutal. Pulled after 4 quick ones including crappy clearing and leaving the net open.

Then Backstrom lets in two in quick succession.

Worse than Brodeur was.

And did you hear the ref after Finland dislodged their own net on the PK? "No penalty. You're welcome." LOL. Probably feels as bad for them as I did.

...yeah, I heard that Kiprusoff pulled himself from the game after 4 goals or something like that. Then he was do depressed at his performance that he tried to commit suicide by jumping in front of the team bus.....but it went through his legs

He didn't hesitate. When the 4th puck went net he simply stood up and skated off the ice on his own.
