Last wensday the winter olympic torch went through town on its round about route to Vancouver BC.
The not so funny thing is this has been the warmest January on record thanks to el nino and so some of the venues have no snow for some of the events. The contingency plan is to bring it in by helicopter, I believe.
I was living in Calgary during the 88 winter olympics, "what a blast" and if memory serves me right in the last couple of days, a chinook (warm wind) blew in and the snow melted in the city.
I guess this just goes to show that the weather can change whenever it wants.
Lets go snow.
