Question noticed other web searches show that one of the switches known as interrupted switch and shift switch should have a small metal like prong on the end of one. If you don't have that on yours is that bad? I will double check and post a picture of mine but mine is 1984 OMC 3.0 and I don't recall having it on mine. It still shifts into gear but wondering if that has any issues with my engine bogging or just another problem if I was supposed to have it. Only one of those black switches has one and not the other from what I see on web searches. So could someone tell me if mine should have this and if so what is that metal prong?

Correct me if I am wrong, but in 84.. the shift assist didn't use the standard "Cobra" Interrupter and Overstroke... I don't believe those came in to being, until the 1986 model year...so you won't find those switches and the "W" shift interrupter housing - And even on the later models, I believe the 3.0 used a completely different setup than the larger engines... not quite as complicated..
