OMC 4.3 Prop question

Hello I am new to the site after reading on here for a while i decided to register so i can post I have a 93 OMC 4.3 that i just purchased it cam with a badly damaged prop and no spare it is a 21 pitch prop i was thinking of putting stainless on it but what should i go with three or four blade and what pitch i have been boating for years on my dads boat but have never really had a chance to mess with prop changes and such because it was dads boat now that i have my own i can do this stuff i want to be out on it by the weekend so any help would be awesome thanks

Ayuh,.... Start out with aluminum props to dial it in abit,...
Then go SSteel...

I have a 1990 OMC 4.3L on my 18' cuddy. It came with a 14.5x17 4 blade aluminum Solas Amita. Hole shot was ok and top speed was around 34mph. After taking a chunk out of it in the rocks over the holiday weekend I replaced it with a 14.25x19 4 blade aluminum Solas Amita. This improved the hole shot noticeably and increased top speed to around 42mph. We are on inland lakes quite a bit doing tubing so the 14.25x19 is perfect. These lakes have some shallow spots that sneak up on you too so I prefer the aluminum versus SS that will break away rather than damage any hard-to-find OMC parts. Hope this is helpful.

Thanks for the insight I was thinking of a 19 pitch four blade my brother in law just gave me another 3 blade 21 aluminium so I will try that
