omc 4.3 v-6 distributor

trying to find a new distributor for a 1986 4.3 v-6 omc everywhere i look you cant find one even on this parts web site where can i find one need one with points and condenser have they changed these all over to electronic ignitions.

That is probably a Prestolite screw cap dist.. I dont think they are made any more. Why do you need a new dist? and why not go to a point-less?

old distributor has stripped threads and distributor cap shakes around still i would have to replace the whole distributor to make sure cap was on tight for an electronic ignition

You could Heli coil the dist body of through bolt the cap. also make sure you have a gasket on it. New point less dist are an almost direct retrofit. no new , or very little change in wiring.

There isn't a coil or an ignition module included in that "Kit" either. Just the expensive parts are missing.

One other thing I noticed in the list of engines it's for, is the Volvo Penta AQAD 41 hate to be the one to tell the seller, but that's a diesel
Last one I looked at didn't have an ignition system on it
