Omc 4.3l won’t stay running after 60 sec

Your missing the point of hot wiring the pump. The relay is not the problem "we got that", we want to know if it's something else not keeping the relay energized, hence the reason we want you to hot wire it directly

Something isn’t right here. If it’s a 1992 it came with a mechanical pump. If it has an electric pump then somone converted it. If that’s the case it’s probably an aftermarket set up. In either case you have to rig up a pressure gauge to find out what’s happening. If the pump is bad changing the relay won’t do anything. It’s a bit of a pain to get the correct fittings (I had to go to a hot rod shop no one else had any idea) but was able to rig up a good set up for checking pressure, volume & vacuum.

Thanks yes I’m having an issue getting the proper fittings I’ll keep checking some shops and rig something to test the fuel pressure- I’m thinking possibly the oil pressure switch could be killing the fuel signal going to test that this weekend

1992 was the year GM transitioned the 4.3L and other motors to a blocked off fuel pump port so they had to go electrical.
