OMC Cobra 2.3 model number

I am new here looking for help on my 1989 Four Winns 170 Freedom with I/O OMC Cobra. The tag on the drive housing says I have a model 985683 with s/n T0645397. All of the websites like Crowley Marine etc. don’t list the model # in that format. They all list 4 options that are alphanumeric like 232BMRMEF. How do I decipher? Thanks.

Thanks! Out of curiosity, what is the difference between the 4 model # variations and how does one know which one is specific to my model # as listed on the drive itself? In the end, it appears that the parts are the same for nearly all part #’s across all 4 iterations, but I will always doublecheck all 4 to make sure before I order anything unless I know for sure. I’m paranoid, I guess!

Part of what started this was that I was searching for the gaskets for the drive oil drain and fill plugs. This site http://www.sterndrive.info/id270.html lists a part number that I purchased and they are flat plastic washers and the plugs they show are threaded top to bottom. The Crowley diagram shows an o-ring and that’s what I have... a partially threaded shank on the plug with a recessed portion near the bottom for an o-ring. There is zero chance those flat plastic washers will work with the plugs I have, and mine look OEM.
