i have an 87 bayliner with a 305 omc cobra. can i use the coupler from a onepiecesealcrank on a two piece seal crank? i bought a complete running 350 and turns out it has the two piece seal. according to a friend of mine, who knows more than i when it comes to these boats,he seems to think that the coupler from my 305, with the one piece rear seal, will not work with the 350 with the two piece seal. if any one has knowledge of whether or not the coupler will swap over i would greatly appreciate it. the 305 is still in the boat and i won't know if it will work until i get the 305 out, i'm trying to make this a one day swap by having the 350 ready to go when we remove the 305. thanks in advance.

Nope,... The bolt holes moved a 1/4", when the seal changed...

need a coupler and flywheel for 1 day swapping

can cross ref all part numbers between a 1986 and a 1988 at shop.evinrude.com and see if studs are the same - not sure if there's a fine thread / coarse thread difference

Yup the 2 pc seal is a 3 1/2" bolt pattern and the 1 pc is 3". My studs for my OMC 5.7 coupler were 7/16 fine thread. (7/16-20 I think)

Thanks for your replies. I did more research after I posted my question and learned about the bolt pattern. My next question would be, is the coupler and fly wheel for this application(two piece seal) one piece? Or is it individual coupler and fly wheel? I noticed a one piece flywheel and coupler on eBay. Thanks again for your assidtance
