OMC Cobra Does your prop lock in both directions?

My Prop will rotate clockwise by hand when in forward gear engine off. Been told it's normal. Does your prop lock left and right when in forward? .

mine sorta ratchets when you spin it opposite of the gear your in, is this what you mean?

Yeah thats what I'm Talking about. I was wondering if that's normal than what stops the prop from spinning backwards when decelerating. Mine makes a clicking sound when decel. I was just wondering if that's what's making that sound.

prop should be locked in both directions are you hearing the clicking in netural? or in gear. you could have the starting of a bad cable or gear set.

The prop will lock in one direction when in foward, and in the other while in reverse. The slight ratchet sound is normal.

Reply to a.d. mobile: the clicking I hear is when in forward gear and decel rapidly from WOT It seems that the shift cable at the esa trigger part is clicking back and forth rapidly the same way it clicks the one time when you go into gear.

Was hoping to hear from a few more Cobra Owners does everyone's prop lock in both directions?. It just seems to me the prop would rotate backwards when decelerating if its allowed to ratchet backwards when in gear. Anybody else?

I will check Mine, But i think it locks only Forward, and rachets backward...I will double check for ya
