To answer your questions:

- The boat it is going in is a 1969 Bourm Sea Camper House Boat.
- It came with a Merc 150,HP inline 6

it seems to me you have what you need for your sea camper. if ya want a shade of increase hp. go up to the 250 instead of the 230. i could see a lot of slow cruisein in that sweet sea camper and i idle mine at 1k for hours...

surely going through all this making parts fit will be a drag compared to the already desirable mercruiser engine and drive it has.

We always get question like can i take a jaguar engine and put it in my jon boat.

Or can i take a Camaro engine and mate it to a cobra that i got for a 100 bucks.

With enough money you can turn a jeep into a boat.

As a matter of fact they did float them across rivers on barrels during WWII.

Enough already gave my opinion i won't post on this one any more.

HI Gang. Well I got a great deal. A 1990 Bayliner with a OMC Cobra and a 3.0 for $100

Everything works best I can tell. I did not buy the boat to use I got it for the stern drive to put on another boat. But I may have a problem.

No doubt about it...... I HAVE to work on my attention to detail!!!


I will say that I would not pull an OMC Cobra out of anything and put it in a boat that already had a Mercruiser in it......
