OMC Cobra Propshaft housing question.

Hey all, I am having a dilemma with my Cobra AMH stearn drive propshaft housing.
I noticed that there was some oil leaking from behind the prop, so I pulled the prop and thought the shaft seals might be leaking but I found the seals dry. I have an OEM service manual and parts diagram so it looks like to me that the o-ring on the front of the propshaft housing might be the culprit. My problem is that my service manual shows how to remove a "counter" rotation propshaft assy but not a standard which I find strange. The countershaft dissassembly looks simple because there are actually two shafts splined together and one pulls out with the propshaft housing when you use the slide hammer. But the standard rotation assembly seems to have only one shaft. I used a slide hammer on mine before I realized this and the housing moved out about a 1/2", and then stopped. So I stopped and reconsulted the manual again. Now that I am looking at the parts breakdown again it seems I might have to leave the propshaft where it is and try to pull the housing out the rest of the way by itself? Or ( and I hope this isn't true) remove the lower case from the top case to pull the driveshaft up so the propshaft can be pulled out.
Can any boat techs here confirm this?
If necessary I could scan up these images from the parts manual to aid in

Re: OMC Cobra Propshaft housing question.

Ok I'm an idiot. I found the section regarding standard rotation dissassembly in my service manual. Now I just hope I didn't damage anything when using the slide hammer for counter rotation disassembly.
Thanks all.
