OMC cobra shifter sticks in gear

I have an 88 Reinell 192s, 305 engine with cobra outdrive. The shifter started sticking last season. I've done some research myself but I'm really looking for a mechanic who is experienced with OMC cobra problems in the Portland OR area does anyone know a mechanic they would recommend.

Isn't Don s near there. If i lived on the west coast he would be the only one i would let work on anything i own.
